At myOptumHealth.com we are committed to your privacy. All information you provide either during sign up or later when you put information into a Personal Health Record (PHR) will remain confidential. Will anybody know what I'm looking at?
myOptumHealth has the ability to track how you move through the site (called "click stream"). This information is not linked to your personal identifiable information. We know for instance that somebody has been looking at an article on yeast infections but we don't know who that was. We use the click stream information to learn what our users are interested in and to develop new content
Does myOptumHealth put cookies on my computer?
We use cookies to make it easier for you to move through our site. Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. We put "permanent" cookies on the hard disk of the computer you're using until a date we specify or until you delete them. They will show us that you have been on our site before and allow us to personalize your experience. You do not have to accept cookies. You can adjust your browser settings to reject them.
Do you keep any personal information after I close my account?
We do not store personally identifiable information in your permanent cookies. If you wish to close your account, all personal account information will be permanently erased.
Can I use myOptumHealth without giving you any personal information?
Yes you can. Most features on myOptumHealth.com such as health articles, videos, health news and some tools can be accessed without ever revealing any personal information. If you sign up to receive newsletters, establish a Personal Health Record (PHR) or wish to use other personalized features, you will have to share some personal information such as your e-mail address. It will be used only for the stated reason and never shared with anyone outside of myOptumHealth.com.
